On November 28, 2023, a Lake Forest, Illinois officer stopped a vehicle at 1 a.m. The driver identified herself as Vanessa. Within minutes, the situation moved from a traffic stop to a DUI investigation after the officer detected the smell of alcohol and her own passenger told him she was, quote, "drunk as hell." What followed was nearly an hour of escalation. She refused to produce a valid ID, pulled out cards belonging to her brother, asked the officer how much he earns a year, told him he looked hot, asked if he was "Tori's dad," threatened to sue, and demanded her attorney. After being asked to step out for field sobriety exercises, she refused. Once placed in the patrol car, she ripped off her seatbelt, threatened to break the partition, and screamed at the officer.
