*HAPPY TACO TUESDAY🌮!* On 03/27/2026 at approximately 2123 hours, I was travelling eastbound on White Oaks Crossing en route to roll call for midnight shift when I observed a marked police vehicle pursuing a fleeing vehicle. I was unable to tell which agency was pursuing due to it being dark at the time, and the speed in which the pursuit passed me. I advised NLRPD Dispatch that I would be assisting the unknown agency due to them being alone in the pursuit. Shortly thereafter, dispatch advised that Maumelle Police Department was the pursuing agency. Once it was safe for me to do so, I conducted a U-turn on White Oaks Crossing and activated my emergency equipment in order to catch up to the pursuit and assist. Due to the road conditions at the time, I was unable to catch up directly to the pursuit. However, I was able to maintain visual contact of the pursuit and updated dispatch on the direction of travel of the fleeing vehicle. As I was negotiating the roundabout at Counts Massie Rd and White Oaks Crossing I observed the fleeing vehicle crash out at the entrance of the Retreat of Maumelle Apartments (Frenchman Loop and Counts Massie). I updated dispatch of this and observed a single black male fleeing on foot from the crash site. I began chasing the male through the complex in my marked patrol unit (2016) with all of my emergency equipment active. Any reasonable persons would know me to be the police due to these facts. The fleeing subject made several loops around building 11151, I continued chasing the subject in my marked patrol unit until he gave up and laid on the ground in front of building 11150. The fleeing subject, later identified as Trevion Young, laid on his back facing me. Upon doing this, I observed him to have an open wound to his forehead, possibly caused by the vehicle accident. I exited my patrol unit, and approached Young and gave him order to turn over onto his stomach. Young did not follow my orders, leading me to have to approach Young and have to physically turn him over and place him into hand cuffs. Maumelle Police Officer Gauden and NLRPD Officer Tyler arrived to my location and assisted in placing him under arrest. Once Young was placed under arrest, Maumelle Police took custody of him. I began to retrace the route that Young took and was able to locate a firearm on the other side of the fence that I observed Young climb over (see attached photo's). Maumelle Police arrived to the location of the located firearm and took custody of it.
