On April 21, 2024 - Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputy Lattin was patrolling in the area of Espanola, NM, when he observed a vehicle stopped at a stop sign. After circling the neighborhood for a few minutes, he came back to the area and observed the same white vehicle parked at the same stop sign. He then observed the driver of the vehicle passed out behind the wheel. He woke the 43-year-old woman up, but she was incoherent and unintelligible. A drug recognition expert (DRE) was called to evaluate the woman, who was driving without a license. After performing field sobriety tests, she was arrested for her 2nd DUI. She was taken to the police station and consented to a breath test. The result was 0.000% BAC. She then refused to be further evaluated by the DRE.
