A Florida woman named Amy Harrington, 38, was arrested after trying to avoid a DUI charge in a bizarre way — by breaking into Irish dance moves during a sobriety test. After she rear-ended another car on Gulf Boulevard near Madeira Beach, deputies noticed her slurred speech, glassy eyes, and the smell of alcohol. When asked to perform standard field sobriety tests, Harrington instead began dancing, performing a mix of ballet and Irish jig-style steps, and even told an officer, “You sound like my ballet coach.” Despite repeated instructions to follow the test, she continued to dance until she was eventually arrested and charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to testing.
