Police bodycam footage shows a 7-Eleven employee theft arrest in Ocala, Florida, where a cashier scanned charity donation barcodes at the register, refunded them, and kept the cash. This real body cam video captures the owner laying out the receipts, the arrest mid-shift, and the detective interview, where she denies everything, until he describes exactly what the surveillance video shows. On July 31, 2024, Ocala police were called to a 7-Eleven on North Pine Avenue. The cashier had been hired five weeks earlier and worked ten shifts. Money went missing on six of them. The store had no on-site manager, the owner found it by accident the day before, scrolling back through transactions: a $200 donation, then another $200, then $400, then $600. The largest single entry was $600 on July 29. She tried to enter $1,000 once and the register refused it. Loss prevention told officers the $1,904 was only what they had documented so far. - Organized Fraud Florida Statute 817.034: a repeated, systematic scheme to defraud is charged separately from any single theft - Grand Theft Florida Statute 812.014: knowingly taking property with intent to deprive the owner of it - Key evidence: point-of-sale donation scan records, register surveillance footage, matched timestamps, and a recorded interview [0:22] The owner explains the scheme [2:00] How it was found [6:07] "I think there's more there" [11:44] "I haven't did anything wrong" [18:04] The paper bags [25:50] "Sir, I don't have any money" Savage was charged with organized fraud and grand theft and held with no bond. At the time of this arrest she was already out on pretrial release in another Marion County case — exploitation of an elderly person, and fifteen counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information. The donations were entered under the Children's Miracle Network barcode and refunded; the money taken was the store's. Charges are allegations; all parties presumed innocent.
