On June 21, 2025, Oxford Police Officer Cromwell stopped a vehicle for expired vehicle tags and several other violations. The vehicle was being driven by a 21-year-old woman. Officer Cromwell and the driver had apparently had another interaction in the past. Officer Cromwell indicated that he could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle, so he asked the woman to step out of the vehicle. She was given the opportunity to blow into a portable breath testing device. The result was positive for the presence of alcohol. She then agreed to complete standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. The police report indicates she provided two breath samples and they both measured 0.13% BAC.
