Former Eugene Police officer Martin Siller resigned immediately after bodycam video surfaced showing racist and offensive remarks during a recorded encounter. Eugene Police Chief Chris Skinner publicly denounced the comments, saying the language had no place in the department and did not reflect its standards. The case is not closed. Eugene’s Independent Police Auditor is still reviewing the incident to determine whether anyone else in the department was involved.
