On February 23, 2024, Fairfield Police Officers were dispatched to a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway. Officer Vinskey arrived first and met with the 42-year-old driver of the vehicle. The woman was very unsteady on her feet and unable to maintain her balance. Her admission to drinking led to the initiation of standardized field sobriety testing. However, she was too intoxicated, so the tests were stopped and the woman was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). At the police station, it was revealed that she had 2 prior OVI convictions and was driving on a suspended license. She submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.382% BAC. Because of her prior convictions, she was transported to the Butler County Jail, where she was held until her initial court appearance later in the morning.
