Police say the encounter escalated after the driver allegedly continued reaching into his pockets despite repeated commands and later resisted arrest. The department stated that the officer took the driver to the ground and deployed a Taser once for approximately one second. According to the department, an ambulance was called within five minutes after the struggle ended to evaluate the driver.
