42-year-old Jeffery Oliver Williams, a resident of Mississippi, was taken into custody and booked into the Douglas County Jail on multiple charges, including: • Window-tint violation • Felony fleeing and attempting to elude • Failure to maintain lane • Obstruction of an officer • Misdemeanor possession of marijuana • Trafficking methamphetamine Following further investigation, authorities determined that Williams was in possession of approximately 25,000 MDMA (ecstasy) tablets, each containing methamphetamine, with an estimated total street value of $400,000. His post-arrest claim that “the car wasn’t mine” was rejected by the court as not credible. Williams was subsequently convicted and sentenced to a mandatory 10 years in a Georgia state prison, to be followed by 20 years of supervised probation. His projected release date is September 9, 2033. In a statement to the public, the Douglas County Sheriff issued a clear warning: “Don’t bring that foolishness to Douglas County, Georgia.”
