On April 20, 2024, deputies responded to a McDonald's in Key Largo, Florida, regarding a disturbance. An employee at the restaurant initially claimed that customers in the drive-thru were being belligerent due to food delays. However, after reviewing cell phone video recorded by the victims inside the vehicle, deputies observed the employee approaching the car, opening the door, and telling the passengers to "step out here imma beat your ass". When a passenger attempted to close the door, the suspect forcefully held it open, lunged into the vehicle, and snatched the recording cell phone from the victim's hand. The victims sustained minor scratches to their hands and wrists during the altercation. The suspect was arrested and charged with Robbery by Sudden Snatching and Burglary with Assault or Battery.
