Jevon Martinez showed up at the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office with a truck full of dismantled Flock Safety cameras after livestreaming himself taking them down. He claimed he was simply “returning” the equipment as a political statement once the sheriff’s office ended its Flock contract. What happened next was captured on bodycam during his arrest and interview. In this breakdown, we react to the original footage from the CopWatch TV channel, covering the arrest outside headquarters and the police interview that followed. We examine key moments where Jevon spoke freely after being told his rights, the mistakes he made by not remaining silent, and how those statements were later used. We also walk through the Miranda warning step by step—why police clearly state that anything you say can and will be used against you in court—and discuss practical lessons for anyone interacting with law enforcement. Viewer comments are reviewed throughout, and we add details that were not included in the original video, including the full outcome of the case and what happened after the arrest. Our goal is to help you better understand your rights, recognize common interview pitfalls, and learn from real bodycam footage.
