A four-time convicted felon with 97 prior arrests led Thurston County deputies on a 100+ mph chase. When deputies eventually searched the truck, they say they found illegal drugs, thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise and a bizarre surprise built directly into the dashboard. This became arrest number 98. On March 22, 2026, Thurston County, Washington deputies attempted to locate a couple wanted in connection with organized retail theft out of Lewis County. According to the sheriff’s office, the truck began fleeing on I-5 before deputies even activated their emergency lights. The pursuit quickly escalated. The driver allegedly reached triple-digit speeds, crossed onto the wrong side of the road, and ran red lights through Olympia and Lacey. Deputies terminated the pursuit twice because of the danger to the public. Later, law enforcement located the truck abandoned and found the two suspects walking nearby. Both were taken into custody at gunpoint. A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise, illegal narcotics, and a custom modification inside the dashboard that deputies weren’t expecting to find. The male driver who authorities said already had 97 prior arrests and four felony convictions was booked for the 98th time on charges including DUI, attempting to elude, and narcotics-related offenses. Dashcam and bodycam footage was released by the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Derek Sanders. Cuffed & Clueless covers real police dashcam and bodycam incidents using law-enforcement footage and public records for news, documentary, commentary, and educational purposes. This video does not promote, encourage, or condone illegal drug use, impaired driving, theft, reckless driving, or attempts to evade law enforcement.
