On October 31, 2023, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputy Vallejo observed a vehicle driving, as he described, "recklessly" in the parking lot of the local Walmart. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the female driver admitted to consuming her first "legal" drink, since she just turned 21-years-old. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests (FSTs) and was arrested soon thereafter. She became very obnoxious and outraged when she saw that her vehicle was being inventoried in preparation to be towed from the parking lot. Once at the Sheriff's station, she submitted to an evidential breath test (EBT) and the result was 0.17% BAC. Once it sinks in that she is going to jail for the night and is being charged with aggravated DUI, she becomes verbally abusive to the deputy and blames him for her arrest. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
