On July 22, 2024, Little Silver police officers were called to the scene of a traffic accident where a Mercedes SUV struck an electrical pole. By the time Sgt. Scherer arrived, the driver had fled the scene on foot. Several minutes later, Patrolman White located the 42-year-old woman who was behind the wheel. She immediately started saying things such as "I am a mother", "I am going through a divorce", and "I ruined my life". She also admitted to consuming two alcoholic beverages at a friend's house. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and she was placed under arrest. The police report indicates she submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.162% BAC. Her charges are discussed at the end of the video. Her case remains open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
