On June 16, 2024, the Tesuque Tribal Police stopped a 31-year-old female motorist for speeding. Officer Suazo felt the woman might be under the influence, so the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office was called since the woman was non-Native American. Deputy Pool made contact with the woman, who denied consuming alcohol. Nonetheless, she was asked to step out of her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She had a very difficult time following instructions and was eventually placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence (DWI). She was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Act and refused to provide breath samples. While Deputy Pool was completing his paperwork, the woman became very belligerent and demeaning. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
