On November 3, 2024, In Crescent City California Highway Patrol officers responded to a single vehicle accident on Parkway Drive just north of Elk Valley Cross Road where they found an intoxicated woman exiting her Genesis SUV. Officers conducted field sobriety tests and a (PAS) preliminary alcohol screening test. The driver provided two adequate breath samples and the readings were: Test 1 - BAC .215 Test 2 - BAC .228 The Driver Sara R. Sampels was arrested and booked into the Del Norte County Jail for the following charges: 23152(A) - DUI Alcohol/Drugs 23152(B) - DUI Alcohol W/BAC above .08 CHP Officers involved: Officer D.
