He didn't know he was being watched. By the time officers pulled up, he already had been. On February 8, 2024, CMPD's Real Time Crime Center — a room full of analysts monitoring surveillance cameras across Charlotte around the clock — spotted a man adjusting a firearm in his waistband on Beatties Ford Road. Officers were notified before they ever arrived. When they got there, they saw what looked like a drug transaction between the armed man and another person. As officers approached, he ran. During the foot pursuit, the man — later identified as 33-year-old Timothy Deangelo Moore — pulled the gun from his waistband and turned toward an officer. The officer fired a single shot. Moore fell, was taken into custody immediately, and received aid from the same officers who fired at him. He survived with non-life-threatening injuries. This is the full body-worn camera footage of that response — RTCC's own tower camera, multiple officers converging, the shooting officer's own account, and everything that followed: scene lockdown, a business-by-business canvass, hospital security detail the next day, and the outcome of three separate reviews into what happened. ⚠️ Timothy Deangelo Moore is presumed innocent of any charges not yet resolved in a court of law. He survived this shooting with non-life-threatening injuries. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and CMPD's Internal Affairs Division both investigated independently. The North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys reviewed the case and found the officer's actions justified under state self-defense law. No charges were filed against the officer. 📁 Chapters: 0:00 – Cold open 0:14 – Disclaimer 0:52 – RTCC Watching 2:01 – Officers Respond 3:10 – The Encounter 4:09 – The Shooting 4:53 – Rendering Aid 5:42 – Scene Lockdown 6:23 – The Investigation 7:27 – Command on Scene 8:06 – Hospital Watch 9:00 – The Charges 9:45 – What Happened Next 10:14 – Outro 🎥 Footage: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, released by court order. Nobody died on Beatties Ford Road that day. That's exactly why this one is worth watching all the way through — not for the shooting itself, but for how much scrutiny a single second of decision-making receives afterward.
