Witnesses reported a woman passed out behind the wheel. They led him right to her silver 2023 Kia. She sat slumped in the driver's seat. An open bottle of booze sat plain as day on the front passenger side. Sergeant Tracy woke her up. Her name turned out to be Erica. As he talked to her, he smelled alcohol. He saw clear signs she was impaired. He asked her to step out and do sobriety tests. First came the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus check. Next was the Walk and Turn. Erica missed heel-to-toe steps. She ignored directions too. She kept acting up, so he stopped the tests. He arrested her for driving under the influence. She had control of the car. They towed her Kia for a 12-hour hold under John's Law. He took Erica to the Audubon station for booking. Once done, officers let her go with a sober friend. She had a court date ahead. He signed the Potential Liability Warning for her. Sergeant Tracy gave her these tickets: Driving under the influence (39:4-50) Careless driving (39:4-97) Driving on a suspended license (39:3-40) Open container (39:4-51B) Court files show Erica had four prior DWI arrests. Later, on February 22, 2025, police in Barrington, New Jersey, nabbed her for possession. Then, on May 1, 2025, came her sixth DWI bust in Magnolia, New Jersey. 0:30 Females have no will power.
