A welfare check begins after a family member reports that a man jumped out of a moving truck and was injured. Officers find him scraped up, confused, and refusing to clearly explain what happened. At first, police and EMS try to calmly get him checked for possible injuries, including road rash and a head injury. But the situation becomes more tense as he repeatedly believes officers are going to hurt him, refuses medical help, and becomes increasingly unstable. When EMS arrives and officers try to guide him safely to the ambulance, the encounter escalates fast. What started as a medical and mental health call turns into a physical struggle, multiple taser deployments, and a difficult effort to get him safely onto a stretcher.
