Akron Police were dispatched to the above address to assist SRO with a parent causing a disturbance during a school function. Officers arrived on scene and found the officer with Levert, Officers told Levert she needed to lower her voice. Officers advised other officers Levert was causing a disturbance by acting disorderly and refusing to leave when asked. The officer told Levert she needed to exit the school and leave the property. Levert eventually exited the building after some augment. While outside the school Levert stated she was going to leave and began to walk away. The officer asked Levert who was going to take her children if she left, so she came back to wait for her children to be released by the school. Officers told the school administration were concerned Levert was intoxicated and were unsure if she drove to the school or if she was in good condition to care for her children. The officer did observe several signs of intoxication as officers observed Levert. Levert was slurring her speech, speaking very loudly and her eyes appeared glassy Levert also had a set of car keys in her hand. One officer asked Levert what her name was and she ignored the question and demanded her children be released from the school. The officers informed Levert she was being detained at this point while officers conducted an investigation and she was required to identify herself. Levert refused to identify herself, The officer then advised Levert she would be subject to arrest if she failed to provide her name and date of birth. Levert refused to identify herself again so she was placed under arrest. While placing Levert under arrest the officer could smell the odor of alcohol coming from Levert's breath now that he was closer to her. Levert was place in the back of my police cruiser and while officers attempted to read her Miranda. Levert yelled over me the entire time so I was unable to read her rights under Miranda, so the officer did not ask her any questions related to the incident today. Levert cried while in the back of my cruiser and stated "I know I fucked up, I am sorry". Samiyah who was also on scene with her mother told officers Levert had just gotten into an argument with James Wallace earlier in the day. Samiyah stated Levert was drinking alcohol before they arrived at Barbara CLC.
