On September 11, 2023, a Hillsborough County Sheriff's officer was called to a JCPenney store in Brandon Town Center after store employees reported a shopper who had concealed items in her pants and bag. The suspect was in denial of shoplifting when confronted and was brought to the security office so cops could make the arrest. You can see clearly in the video how the cop did his best to make the situation less stressful for the suspect after realizing that the suspect was harmless. In the end, the suspect was charged with petty theft after she concealed items worth $147.
