A late-night traffic stop quickly escalates as an officer suspects severe impairment, leading to a series of failed sobriety tests. An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle observed driving without headlights and erratically in the early morning hours. Upon contact, the driver exhibited incoherence and a strong odor of alcohol, prompting the administration of field sobriety exercises. The driver struggled significantly, failing multiple tests including the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, One Leg Stand, and Walk and Turn, and then recited the alphabet by singing despite instructions. Following her inability to complete the exercises adequately, she was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, with subsequent Alcotest results revealing a blood alcohol content double the legal limit. After processing at the department, she was released to a sober individual. --- Transparency through the lens of the law. Subscribe for more real bodycam breakdowns and on-the-street encounters.
