Carnival is a celebration of culture, music and community. Our job is to make sure it stays that way. To make sure it remains a safe and enjoyable event, our officers have been carrying out proactive operations in the run-up to carnival. These operations are designed to identify and stop those who may be planning to commit crime, before they get the chance to put others at risk. By tackling issues before they reach the streets of Notting Hill, we’re protecting carnival-goers, keeping the atmosphere safe, and ensuring the focus stays on enjoyment, not disruption. Stopping crime before it happens means everyone can celebrate with confidence. So far, this has led to over 100 arrests, the seizure of 11 firearms and more than 40 knives. Each item taken off the streets is one less threat to the safety of carnival-goers.
