A California transplant officer working for the Meridian Police Department in Meridian, Idaho USA decided that taking a few photos of a wrecked dirt bike gave him the green light to grab and ground an innocent 22-year-old man who had committed no crime at all. What happened next on Ensenada Drive in North Meridian, Idaho was caught on cell phone video and police body cam footage, and the story only got crazier through 2025 and into 2026. WHERE IT HAPPENED: Ensenada Drive, North Meridian, Ada County, Idaho USA WHEN IT HAPPENED: Sunday, June 30, 2024, around 6:30 PM THE OFFICER: Bradley Chambers, then with Meridian PD, originally from Napa County, California THE VICTIM: Samson Allen, 22 years old, of Meridian, Idaho, older brother of the 16-year-old dirt bike rider who crashed THE FULL STORY: On a quiet Sunday afternoon in a Meridian, Idaho neighborhood, 16-year-old Parks Allen lost control of his dirt bike, struck a utility pole, and injured his hand and foot. Paramedics rushed him to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. His three older brothers, including Samson Allen, drove to the scene to recover the 250cc dirt bike that neighbors had moved out of the road. As the brothers loaded the bike into their own pickup truck on their own property line, Meridian Police Officer Bradley Chambers rolled up and ordered them to unload it so he could photograph it for his crash investigation. Within seconds the encounter spiraled. Samson asked questions, tried to stop a gasoline leak from the bike, and was suddenly grabbed, taken to the ground, and pinned with the officer's knee on his neck. His younger brothers filmed the whole police encounter, screaming that he was not resisting. The bodycam audio even captures one brother telling Chambers, "Oh man, this is gonna be a fat lawsuit, buddy." WHAT HAPPENED NEXT: Chambers quietly left the Meridian Police Department in September 2024 during the internal use of force investigation. He was hired almost immediately by the Boise Police Department in Boise, Idaho, but was separated from Boise PD on January 17, 2025. Just four days later, on January 21, 2025, he was rehired by the Napa County Sheriff's Office in Napa, California USA, where he had previously worked for 14 years. He is now reportedly back at the rank of Sergeant earning a six-figure salary. THE CRIMINAL TRIAL: On May 7, 2025, a jury in Ada County, Idaho found Samson Allen guilty of misdemeanor resisting arrest and obstructing justice. He was sentenced by Magistrate Judge Michael Lojek to three months of unsupervised probation with a withheld judgment, meaning the case may be dismissed after successful completion. During trial, Chambers claimed no recollection of his own completed de-escalation training. The judge called that "shocking to say the least." Fellow Meridian officers testified that Chambers failed best practices, failed to de-escalate, and should have waited for backup. Samson appealed the verdict on May 23, 2025. THE LAWSUIT MONEY: On December 17, 2024, attorney Ryan Black filed a tort claim on Samson Allen's behalf against Bradley Chambers and the City of Meridian, Idaho, alleging violations of his Fourth Amendment and Fourteenth Amendment rights under the United States Constitution. The claim seeks $750,000 in damages for traumatic brain injury, back and neck injuries, cuts, bruises, mental trauma, lost wages, and reduced income-earning capacity. As of 2026, Samson Allen has until June 30, 2026 to file the full federal civil rights lawsuit, and his legal team is actively considering it.
