March 6, 2026: Just after 2:40 a.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop after observing a driver traveling well below the posted speed limit and failing to use a turn signal. Based on the driver's behavior, a DUI investigator was requested to respond to the scene. As the investigation began, the driver immediately refused to participate in field sobriety exercises, repeatedly telling deputies, "I know my rights," and "I don't answer any questions." According to the arrest report, deputies detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver's breath and observed slurred speech along with watery, glassy eyes. Based on the totality of the investigation, the driver was placed under arrest for DUI. After arriving at the jail, the arrest report states the driver refused to submit to an approved breath test, even after being read Florida's Implied Consent Warning. He was booked on charges of Driving Under the Influence – Impairment and First Refusal to Submit to Testing – Motor Vehicle.
