Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect, later identified as a 37 year old named Jamaal. In the end, Jamaal was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and possession of spice. He was deemed incompetent and committed to the department of children and families. Jamaal has a long history in Pinellas County with 52 cases dating back to 2003. Some of the charges include possession of a weapon on school property, trespassing, battery, criminal mischief, battery on a law enforcement officer, prior charges related to spice, crack, cocaine, and controlled substances, and more.
