A domestic violence investigation ended with a man in custody after he tried to flee from deputies. On July 22, 2026, just after 10:30 a.m., teamHCSO responded after a victim arrived at a local urgent care with multiple bruises and lacerations. The victim stated that the suspect strangled her until she lost consciousness. Detectives identified the suspect as Anthony Rodriguez Jr., 32, and located him driving nearby. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, Rodriguez fled before crashing into a ditch, abandoning the vehicle, and running on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, deputies deployed a Taser and Rodriguez was arrested. "This man made the choice to abuse someone he believed he could control, and then made another bad decision by trying to run from the consequences," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "My heart goes out to this survivor, and I'm grateful the help needed will now be received. Domestic violence has no place in our community, and we will continue to pursue those who prey on others to ensure victims receive the protection and support they deserve." #law #bodycamera #courtcase #crimedocumentary #bodycam #police #arrest
