A domestic violence call turns deadly after a rifle-wielding suspect flees through a residential complex — putting officers and innocent bystanders in immediate danger. Phoenix Police responded to 35th Avenue and Osborn Road after a woman reported being beaten by her husband. The responding officer spotted the suspect — who immediately fled on foot through the complex. As backup arrived, the situation escalated: the man was seen carrying a rifle and refused repeated commands to stop. With the suspect moving toward civilians — including children — officers made the critical decision to open fire. The man was struck, disarmed, and taken into custody. Despite medical aid from Phoenix Fire Department, 40-year-old Jason Anthony Arrieta was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The involved officers, assigned to the Maryvale-Estrella Mountain Precinct, have approximately 6 and 18 years of service respectively. No officers or civilians were injured. 📌 All footage is used strictly for public information and law enforcement transparency.
