On April 11, 2025, the Lacey Police Department received calls about a blue Honda Civic driving recklessly with no headlights on. Officer Evers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was being driven by a 33-year-old woman who was driving her boyfriend's car home from a concert. Her boyfriend was sitting in the passenger seat. The woman denied consuming alcohol, but officers still asked her to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which included a portable breath test (PBT). The result of the PBT was 0.13% BAC. The woman was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and was transported to the Lacey Police Department. She consented to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.13% BAC. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
