An elderly couple in Port St. Lucie had only seconds to wait for help after their car slid into a pond during heavy rain. By the time officers arrived, the vehicle was already partially underwater, with the water nearly up to the windows. The driver had reportedly made a wrong turn and tried to get back onto the road, but the car went down an embankment and ended up in the pond. That left both elderly occupants trapped in a sinking vehicle before officers rushed straight into the water. The bodycam footage shows police moving fast, reaching the car, and helping both people back to shore for medical evaluation. Both were taken to the hospital as a precaution, and police later said they were in good health. Would you have gone into the water that fast without thinking twice?
