The suspect, Brian Goldberg, was arrested for felony DUI of Drugs after a traffic collision that left him with facial and head injuries. Goldberg was transported to a local hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) for medical treatment. While being escorted down the hospital hallway, Goldberg became aggressive, refusing to comply with officers' commands and attempting to get off the gurney. When he turned combative and tried to bite the officers, a Categorical Use of Force was employed. An officer placed his clenched hand against Goldberg’s throat and later his open hand around Goldberg’s neck. Fortunately, no additional injuries were sustained by Goldberg, and no officers or bystanders were harmed during the incident. If you’re reading this you’re a real one!
