On Christmas Eve, Alpharetta police responded to an apartment complex after reports of multiple people being shot. When officers entered the apartment, they were met with a chaotic and devastating scene. Four women had been shot, several victims were critically injured, and the person investigators believed was responsible was no longer inside. Police immediately began searching the apartment, securing the area, rendering aid to the victims, and trying to determine where the shooter had gone. One of the victims, Lashanda Allison, would later die from her injuries. In Part One of this story, we follow the initial police response, the body camera footage from inside and outside the apartment, the search for the suspect, and the moment investigators begin putting together what happened that Christmas Eve. Part Two will take a deeper look at the interviews, the relationships involved, the events leading up to the shooting, and what investigators learned from the people who survived.
