31:51 - Surprise, surprise...welcome to County Jail. All piercings must be removed. On January 18, 2025, Whitman County Sheriff's Deputy Olin stopped a vehicle for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. The vehicle was being driven by a 19-year-old Washington State University student. When asked, the woman denied consuming any alcohol. However, Deputy Olin asked the woman to perform the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test while she remained in the vehicle. After viewing her eyes, Deputy Olin again asked the woman if she had consumed any alcohol and she admitted that she had. She was then asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform more tests. Due to the cold weather, the fact that the woman was wearing very little clothing, and that she was under 21-years-old, Deputy Olin chose not to perform the whole series of field sobriety tests. Instead, the woman submitted to a portable breath test and the result was 0.21% BAC. She was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. She was transported to the Pullman Police Station for an evidential breath test. The woman expressed concern about already being on probation for a theft related conviction. She was eventually transported to the Whitman County Jail, where she was advised that she would need to remove all metal and piercings. She made a surprise announcement that her nipples were pierced. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
