Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn continue their push for common sense change in the nation's gun laws. The United States Senate is expected to vote soon on a bill that would expand firearm background checks to close the gun-show and private-sale loophole. A group of Senators has threatened to filibuster any legislation that will lead to reform. The Mayor and Chief demand that the Senate engage in meaningful debate on common sense reform and to call the vote. A recent Marquette University poll found that more than 80-percent of Wisconsin residents, including gun owners, said they favor background checks for all gun sales.
