On July 29, 2024, Cincinnati police and emergency crews responded to a home on Bracken Woods Lane in Westwood for an unresponsive 2-year-old girl. Her name was Ah’Layla Bradley. She was rushed to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Weeks later, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office ruled her death a homicide, and toxicology evidence showed exposure to fentanyl and xylazine. Her mother, Bethoney Miller-Williams, was arrested on September 19, 2024. Court records alleged that Miller-Williams created an environment that exposed Ah’Layla to lethal fentanyl and xylazine. She initially faced charges including involuntary manslaughter and endangering children. In this episode of StayAlert Interrogation, watch the police interrogation of Bethoney Miller-Williams as detectives question her about the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death. With investigators examining the timeline, access to drugs, and inconsistencies surrounding what happened inside the home, the interview becomes increasingly serious as detectives confront her with where they believe the evidence is pointing. The case would ultimately end with Miller-Williams accepting criminal responsibility. In June 2025, she pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, endangering children, and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors said Ah’Layla likely died shortly after ingesting fentanyl and alleged that Miller-Williams knew the child had encountered fentanyl hours before emergency services were called. Prosecutors also alleged that fentanyl was flushed down the toilet before police arrived. On July 9, 2025, Miller-Williams was sentenced to a minimum of six years in prison, with the possibility of serving as many as nine years. During sentencing, she expressed remorse and acknowledged that her drug addiction had resulted in the death of her daughter. At the center of every interrogation, court filing and sentence is Ah’Layla Bradley—a little girl who was only two years old. This video presents the interrogation and documented outcome of the case, allowing viewers to hear the questioning and responses for themselves. What stood out to you most during this interrogation?
