A woman was pulled over in Carpentersville, Illinois after an officer observed that her rear license plate was bent and her vehicle had no front plate. Illinois requires both. She questioned the stop and initially declined to identify herself, telling the officer she was recording the encounter. She said she had lost her wallet containing her driver's license and state IDs, and offered to show her license on her phone. A records check returned a valid no-bond warrant out of DuPage County for failing to appear in court. Officers told her she was under arrest and asked her repeatedly to step out of the vehicle. Once handcuffed, she said the cuffs were too tight and causing severe pain. Officers told her they could fit a finger between the cuff and her wrist with a glove on, and asked her to stop tensing up. She screamed, said she had done nothing to break a law, and told officers she would sue them. Officers parked and locked her vehicle before transporting her to the Carpentersville Police Department. She was later transferred to the DuPage County Jail, held overnight, and released the following day by a judge with a new court date. BACKGROUND Court records show the warrant stemmed from a December 2024 citation for driving while license suspended, along with a citation for operating a vehicle with canceled, suspended or revoked registration. Records show a hearing was held in DuPage County on December 2 and she failed to appear, at which point a judge issued the warrant. The woman is Lisa Fleischmann, owner of the Trump Truth Store in Crystal Lake. She released this footage herself in August 2026 and spoke to the Lake and McHenry County Scanner about the arrest. According to her account to that outlet, she appeared in DuPage County court four times in late 2025 regarding the traffic offense, and courts in Rolling Meadows and McHenry County dismissed related charges after determining the underlying issue was a failure to provide proof of insurance. She said she returned to DuPage County with proof the matter had been resolved elsewhere and the judge declined to dismiss. She said she never received a certified letter notifying her that her license had been revoked. She also said she is legally deaf without hearing aids and received no accommodation in custody, and that she was surprised the public could obtain video of her arrest through a records request.
