In the early hours of Thursday, October 31st, 2024, at approximately 2:46 AM, deputies conducting a routine security check made a discovery that quickly escalated into a tense situation. A lone vehicle, parked far from any designated beach access points, caught their attention—a curious sight given that the park’s operating hours end at 11:00 PM. As the deputies approached to investigate, they found an adult male and female, both completely naked, asleep in the back seat. On the center console, they noticed a small silicone container, the type often associated with THC wax or hashish oil. The scene raised enough questions to warrant further investigation. When deputies requested the pair, later identified as Carlos Alarcon Morales and Christina Hutto, to step out of the vehicle, things took a confrontational turn. Carlos immediately expressed frustration, accusing the deputies of harassment and even suggesting inappropriate intentions toward his partner. Meanwhile, Christina claimed the container held CBD and allowed deputies to retrieve it. However, testing revealed the substance was THC, giving deputies probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants. Recognizing Carlos’s escalating agitation, deputies began their search with him for safety reasons. Tensions mounted as Carlos resisted their attempts to secure his hands, setting the stage for an increasingly volatile encounter. What began as a routine check quickly spiraled into a confrontation, leaving deputies to manage the situation with caution.
