On 05/07/2026 at 6:50 AM, Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 31-year-old male, Jonathan Nieves for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2A] and Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. Mr. Nieves was also found to have the following outstanding warrants; 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office with no bail, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Kearny, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ with no bail, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Woodbridge, NJ in the amount of $2,500.00 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $6,500.00 with a 10% option. Mr. Nieves was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
