On December 30, 2023, a deputy in Monroe County, Florida, observed the driver of a white van speeding 74 mph in a 35 mph zone. Upon attempting to pull him over, the deputy observed a small item, later determined to be a can of Surfside hard lemonade, being tossed out of the window. Upon initiating arrest, the driver was uncooperative, made insulting comments to the deputy, and resisted arrest. Pepper spray was deployed to gain compliance, and the Fire and Rescue team was called out to assist in the driver's recovery. He continued to make threats of bodily harm to the deputy, and was booked on multiple charges. 50 Police Body Cam (that’s “five-oh”) is an educational resource for viewers to witness the real-life situations faced by the men and women of law enforcement.
