On Super Bowl Sunday 2025, a driver heading home on I-85 South in Coweta County, Georgia was pulled over, ordered out of her car, and told deputies' radar caught her at 128 mph in a 70. She insisted her 2020 Chevy Spark can't physically reach 128. Its speedometer, and the manufacturer's specs, top out at 124. She was mocked, accused of lying, threatened with jail, and handed a citation for 128. Then the bodycam and radio traffic told a different story. Deputy Wilson's radar was never turned on. The 128 mph reading came from Deputy Daniel's front radar, which appears to have clocked Deputy Wilson's own patrol car as he accelerated to catch up.
