On April 3, 2025, at approximately 5:22 PM, a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper attempted a traffic stop on a silver Toyota for illegal window tint near mile marker 88 on eastbound I-4. The vehicle, occupied by two Hispanic males, initially pulled over but then fled the scene, prompting a pursuit through Winter Park residential areas and surface streets, reaching speeds in excess of 90 mph and driving into oncoming traffic. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle ran multiple red lights and stop signs, showing blatant disregard for public safety. The vehicle eventually stopped in an Advent Health clinic parking lot after fleeing in the wrong direction on Aloma Avenue. Two suspects fled on foot; one was later identified and apprehended as 19-year-old Jonathan Adrian Reyes. The passenger remains at large. Reyes provided a false ID during questioning but was positively identified using Rapid ID. A search of the vehicle uncovered two loaded handguns, approximately 446.5 grams of cannabis, a small quantity of crack cocaine, and an unknown blue substance. The vehicle also contained packaging materials consistent with drug distribution. Reyes was arrested and transported to the Orange County Jail. His driver’s license was suspended, and he has a known history of providing false identification to law enforcement.
