Deerfield Beach, Florida. June 18, 2018. Jahseh Onfroy — XXXTentacion — withdrew $50,000 and drove to RIVA Motorsports. A dark SUV containing Dedrick Williams, Robert Allen, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome was following him. Williams had recognized his BMW from a shared probation office in January 2018. Williams and Allen followed Onfroy inside the store. They walked right past him as he browsed motorcycles. Then bought two black neoprene masks at the sales counter — while Onfroy stood feet away from them. They returned to the SUV and waited. When Onfroy left, the SUV blocked his exit. Boatwright and Newsome emerged in the masks. Onfroy said "What is this for?" He was shot three times. The $50,000 Louis Vuitton bag was taken. Onfroy was pronounced dead at hospital. He was 20. One hour after the murder — Boatwright texted his brother: "Tell my brother I got the money for the new phone." Minutes later, he forwarded a news article about Onfroy's death. That night — they filmed themselves flashing $100 bills. Within days, Boatwright had searched "accessory to murder" and "XXXTentacion" on his phone. DNA on the murder masks matched Boatwright at odds of 1 in 929 nonillion. Robert Allen turned state's witness. In March 2023, all three were convicted of first-degree murder and armed robbery. Boatwright received two consecutive life sentences plus 30 years. When he was handcuffed — he blew a kiss to the victim's family. In October 2024, from inside prison, Boatwright said: "I'm not sorry for nothing I did." Jahseh Onfroy was 20 years old. If you need help — reach out. You are not alone.
