The Uber driver told police the passenger was extremely intoxicated and was kicking the driver’s seat. The Uber driver then pulled into the parking lot and contacted the police to remove the passenger, who was refusing to exit the vehicle. Police made contact with the passenger, advised him that his ride had been canceled, and told him to dump out the beer he had with him in the Uber. While trying to get the passenger to leave, he became hostile with the police and stated he wanted to fight. It was at this time that the police held him at taser and were able to diffuse the situation. The male continued to disobey officer commands and use vulgar language and was ultimately arrested for disorderly intoxication (misdemeanor). While being transported to the police station, he demanded to go to the hospital. While at the hospital, he made threatening comments to harm officers, which gained him the additional charge of corruption by threat against a public official (felony).
