On June 15, 2025, officers responded to an initial report of a 911 hang-up at a local residence. Upon arrival, an officer observed an open front door and heard a female yelling, along with juveniles crying inside. Due to exigent circumstances, the officer entered the home to investigate and encountered a 34-year-old female suspect, who became immediately irate and uncooperative. The suspect slammed the front door to prevent responding backup officers from entering the residence. When the first officer attempted to open the door for them, the suspect scratched his hand. She then retreated to a bedroom, refused to comply with lawful orders, and actively resisted arrest by dropping her body weight and refusing to place her hands behind her back. Officers safely escorted her from the room and took her into custody. She was subsequently charged with felony Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer and misdemeanor Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer.
