On August 4, 2025, just after midnight, officers were dispatched to a disturbance involving two individuals near a silver sedan. A passerby had reported hearing a loud argument. When officers arrived, they found a male and female standing outside the vehicle. The male’s shirt was almost completely torn, and he had visible scratch marks on his chest. The female also had an injury to her hand. Officers separated the two. The female explained that she had recently caught her boyfriend cheating. Earlier that evening, they reconciled, but during the drive she asked to see his phone. After he handed it over, she discovered intimate messages with other women. She confronted him, refused to return the phone, and admitted that things “went to 100 and got out of hand.” The male told officers that after giving her his phone, he asked for it back. He said that during the struggle, she attacked him, causing the scratches to his chest and tearing his shirt. He confirmed they had been in a dating relationship for about nine months. Based on statements and evidence at the scene, officers determined there was probable cause to arrest the female for battery dating violence. Court Outcome: The defendant was taken into custody and appeared before a judge, where probable cause was confirmed. She was released on her own recognizance and ordered to have no violent contact with the other party. A not guilty plea was entered, but she later failed to appear for a scheduled hearing. The case was continued, and she eventually returned to court, where she was accepted into a pre-trial diversion program. As part of the agreement, she was ordered to pay prosecution costs and placed under court monitoring for compliance. #bodycam #police #cops #bwc #policebodycamera #copcam #copcar #arrest #arrested #bwc ⚠️ DisclaimerAll individuals featured in this video are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
