Around 5:00 PM on April 22, 2024, an officer from the Webster Police Department initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle that was driving 55 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour speed zone. The driver failed to cooperate and chose to drive herself home while the officers followed her. To their surprise, the driver turned out to be Sandra Doorley, the Monroe County District Attorney, who informed the officers, "I AM THE DA." After a week, Monroe County DA Sandra Doorley took time to give an apology and released a video to address her traffic stop blunder. District Attorney Sandra Doorley could have faced arrest for fleeing or eluding a police officer, which is considered a misdemeanor in New York. Instead, she was fined $183 for a speeding ticket only. An Ethics Committee and the Office of Public Integrity investigated her actions. As an update, DA Sandra Doorley announced that she is stepping down from her position effective August 30, 2025 (More than a year after her traffic stop). #bodycam #bodycamera #policebodycam #arrestvideos #copsbodycam #policeactivity #codebluecam #midwestsafety #law&crime #trafficstop #DA #Doorley #SandraDoorley
