#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On August 20th 2022, Officer was driving eastbound on Atlanta Hwy passing Huntington Rd intersection when I witnessed a vehicle driving at a slow rate of speed and unable to maintain lane. The vehicle passed the entrance ramp to get onto Outer Loop 10. As we were approaching the next intersection; exit ramp for inner loop 10, I noticed that the light was red, and the vehicle went through the red light. It was at this time I conducted a traffic. stop on the vehicle, by activating my emergency lights. Officer approached the passenger side of the vehicle and made contact with the driver. I informed the driver that she had just went through the red light and asked for her driver's license. I noticed in the backseat a male slumped over. I asked the driver if he was ok and she stated that he had a lot to drink and she was taking him home. I asked the driver if she had anything to drink and she stated that she did have a few shots earlier in the night. I identified the driver as Caroline. While officer was speaking to Caroline, I observed the following physiological indicators of impairment by Central Nervous System (CNS) Depressants such as alcohol: Glassy and bloodshot eyes Odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her mouth as she spoke While I speaking with the driver, the male in the backseat began throwing up. I opened the back door as he was beginning to throw up while on his back. It was at this time I asked Central for additional units to assist me. Ms. Snipes got out of the vehicle to help with the male in the back seat. As I was helping the male in the back I noticed a large bag that contained multiple bottles of alcohol along with an open container in the back-seat passenger door panel. At this time, another officer conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Test. During this time, I witnessed Caroline Incorrectly do the Walk and Turn portion. She took 9 steps forward, stopped, and began to walk backwards. During the One Leg Stand, Officer witnessed her unable to maintain her balance multiple times. After she put her leg down, instead of continuing counting where she left off, she began counting from one. After the Standardized Field Sobriety Test was conducted, she was placed under arrest for DUI and read her the State of Georgia Implied Consent Notice requesting a blood test; Caroline agreed. Officer transported Caroline to Piedmont to conduct the blood examination.
