In the early hours of February 6, 2023, Police in Arizona apprehended a reckless driver, later identified as 59-year-old Darren Runyon, on State Route 89A. Runyon's vehicle was notably trailing a gas pump hose. Despite his claim of no weapons in the car, the officers discovered a 10-inch Bowie knife. During the investigation, Runyon punched and bit the officers while resisting arrest. Though he was suspected of impaired driving, there were no signs of physical impairment. Runyon was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and misconduct involving weapons. ** Disclaimer: The information provided pertaining to Darren Runyon's alleged status as a Navy SEAL has not been independently verified.
