Police bodycam footage from St. Louis County shows a man who told officers he was a "federal agent" pull a handgun with a red laser on them in Wildwood, Missouri. This officer involved shooting bodycam video comes from the St. Louis County Police Department's critical incident briefing, with both officers' body cameras and the real 911 dispatch audio. On April 22, 2026, just before 8 PM, a father called 911 to report that his 32-year-old son was not listening and had a firearm the caller believed was unloaded. Dispatch told responding officers the father had the magazines on him. Two officers from the City of Wildwood precinct arrived at the home on Wild Horse Farm Court at 7:53 PM and met the father outside. While they talked, the son, Cole Reynolds, walked out of the house, announced he was a federal agent and ordered the officers to get on the ground. Officers told him to back away. He pulled a handgun from his waistband, refused commands to drop it and pointed it, red laser on, toward the officers. One officer fired, striking him once. No officers were hurt. Investigators later said the 9mm still had a round in the chamber. Reynolds was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening injury and charged with unlawful use of a weapon; he was held on a $500,000 cash-only bond. The case is being handled by the St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons. Was the officer justified? Tell us in the comments.
